However, a pound of precious metal is only 12 troy ounces, not 16. What makes it more confusing is the fact that comparing a single troy ounce vs regular ounce the troy does weigh more.

The funny part about the feather gold question is that the feathers do weigh more pound for pound, but an ounce of gold weighs more than an ounce of feathers. Confusing enough?
